The Journey Continues: Leadership: the Lessons of Jesus

The Journey Continues: Leadership: the Lessons of Jesus

My journey this week took me to the discovery of the book, Leadership: Lessons of Jesus, by Bob Brines and Ray Pritchard, located in the small book section at the Post Exchange, USMA, West Point. It spoke to my heart and I want to share it with you. As a leader, Jesus never wrote a book, never taught a seminar, never owned a house, never led an army… but his leadership gives these Lessons:

Exploring Nature: Winter Water

We are fortunate to live in an area where freezing temps are not all that common, even in the dead of winter. That means water in birdbaths may have a thin skim of ice some mornings, but will seldom remain completely frozen all day.

At ‘The Garden Guy’s’ house 2020 was pretty much a miraculous year for butterflies. As you might guess I had an abundance of plants making sure pollinators of all sorts felt welcome in the garden. In May I wrote a column telling you about a new Sunstar pentas series of making their debut. I had already grown Sunstar Pink that seriously had the largest florets of any pentas series I had ever grown. It was a favorite of the Gulf Fritillaries in my 2019 testing. Next, I put the Sunstar Red to the big test, and I am delighted to tell you this has champion written all over it.

San Marcos artist Debangana Banerjee grew up in West Bengal, India, in the small, idyllic university town of Santiniketan, where people hold a philosophy of simple living and high thinking. The school in which Banerjee studied is unique, operating in completely natural settings where all classes and activities were conducted outdoors, beneath the trees.
