aGLIFF announces screening of musical ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ Dec. 28

Austin’s oldest film festival, aGLIFF, announces a special event and screening of the Whitney Houston biopic musical “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.” A private screening of the film will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 28 at the Galaxy Theatres Austin, located at 6700 Middle Fiskville Road. Hosted by All American Goddess at Large Nadine Hughes, the screening will feature a pre-movie Whitney Houston singalong with Austin-based musician Tina G.

Things are going very well around my place when it comes to wildlife viewing. First, a small flock of robins, four or five birds, showed up in my backyard and began drinking and bathing in my concrete birdbath. They splashed around and seemed to be having a fine old time.

Eye of the Dog Art Center’s annual holiday sale is returning Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Resident artists of the center and a select group of guest artists will be selling their work in a laid-back indoor and outdoor setting. Gifts, local vendor support and refreshments are among the other highlighted attractions visitors can expect.
