Price Center Garden Party celebrating outdoor art set for Saturday, May 7

Over the past 12 months, the Price Center Arts Committee has overseen the installation of 10 new pieces of permanent outdoor art in the center’s showcase garden. A special outdoor reception celebrating all the art is set for Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. The event is free and open to all, and live music by Gary Taylor and light refreshments will also be featured.

Swallowtails were early at The Garden Guy’s house this year. Thank goodness I had Superbena verbenas in full bloom. It is as if they had been given the task of announcing the arrival of spring and the butterfly season. March 22, I photographed an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail on Superbana Royale Chambray verbena.

The Heritage Association of San Marcos (HASM) returns with its annual Heritage Home Tour starting Saturday, June 4. This year celebrates 45 years of Heritage Home Tours with the theme of “See, Sip and Savor: In the Historic Gardens of San Marcos.”
