The Randy Rogers Band will be closing down Cheatham Street Warehouse with a CD release party for the newly released album "Hellbent" on Saturday. Joining the Randy Rogers Band will be Shane Smith & The Saints, Read Southall and Grant Gilbert. Doors open at 5 p.m. and all ages are welcome – minors will be charged $5 at the door. Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler (right) and Guadalupe County Sheriff Arnold Zwicke (left) presented Sheriffs’ Association of Texas Lt. John Edward Flores – Texas Peacemaker Scholarship to Lauryn Hodges. Lauryn is currently majoring in Nursing at Texas State University in San Marcos. Also present was retired Lt. John “Eddie” Flores for whom the scholarship is named.  The association offers scholarships to eligible students pursuing an academic degree at a college or university. For more information on scholarships offered by the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas, visit their website at their website. SMARC opens new refugia facility

HCWC auction celebrates 41 years

The Hays Caldwell Women’s Center (HCWC) is celebrating its 35th annual auction and 41 years of serving local victims and survivors of abuse and assault with a Fiesta Saturday, April 27, at 6 p.m.
