San Marcos Police are seeking two suspects, one white and one black, in connection with a robbery and abduction that occurred early on Sunday.

Commander Kelly Bomersbach said the victim was in his Chevrolet Cobalt in the parking lot of the Cabana Beach Apartments at 1250 Sadler Drive when, around 3:10 a.m., he was approached by the two suspects, one armed with a handgun.

The suspects got in the car with him and forced him to drive. He was told to get out of the car in the 1500 block of McCarty Lane, then sought help at a nearby residence, using their phone to make several calls before asking for a ride back.

Once he arrived back at Cabana Beach he called police.

Bomersbach said the victim’s phone was still in the car, the investigators tracked it using the “track my iPhone” app. Then, Austin police recovered it around 10 a.m.

She said there’s no indication why the victim was targeted by the pair.

The victim said both were 17 to 22 years old, around five foot, seven inches and 150 lbs.

Anyone with any information is urged to call police at 512-753-2300.
