Based on his record, a San Marcos man arrested on charges including assault/family violence and assault on a police officer over the weekend has a history of not getting along.

Stevie Ray Solis, 27, was jailed on Friday after officers responded to what was initially an argument between him and his 21-year-old brother Gabriel and two roommates. The verbal disturbance turned physical between the two brothers and then, both “turned on” the roommates, police said in an email after a Daily Record request to City Hall for information about the case.

“Gabriel Solis threw a chair into a window and Stevie Solis assaulted the two roommates,” the email read.

Stevie Solis resisted when officers attempted to place him in handcuffs, resulting in him kicking one officer in the leg and causing “minor abrasions” to another. Neither was hurt seriously.

Stevie Solis remains in Hays County Jail under bonds totaling $30,000.

Online records indicate this is his fourth arrest for assault in the past two years, three times by San Marcos Police and once by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.

His brother Gabriel was also arrested for assault but was cooperative and didn’t resist. He was also still behind bars Monday under a $5,000 bond.

Assault on a public servant is a third degree felony.

In other weekend reports, police arrested 24-year-old Shaquill Williams for deadly conduct/discharging a firearm Saturday morning after he was found target shooting in the Blanco riverbed not far from the Blanco River duplexes in the 1400 block of River Road.

Williams, who had no prior arrest record with the SMPD, was between 100 and 200 feet from the duplexes and was shooting in that direction.

The charge is a third degree felony. Williams was released from jail Sunday on a $20,000 surety bond.

The Daily Record was not permitted to speak directly with police regarding either case.
