Change for PSAs not dead yet; plus public hearing on Westover plans

P&Z Agenda
Monday, November 12, 2018

Two issues are returning to the Planning and Zoning Commission tonight: a zoning change in Westover and the potential expansion of Preferred Scenario Amendment (PSA) applications.

The commission will hold a public hearing and consider a request regarding a zoning change from Single Family 6 to Neighborhood Density-3 for about 1.2 acres at the intersection of Baylor Avenue and Earle Street. The applicant, Lance Huber, wants to build zero lot line houses on the property. During an October P&Z meeting, five people spoke in opposition of the request.

The commission is also slated to hold a public hearing on an amendment to the Land Development Code that would change the number of times per year that the city will consider applications for PSAs. Currently, PSAs are considered twice a year. A plan to allow PSAs year round was voted down, but council has asked city staff to review additional options with P&Z that would allow applicants to submit PSAs more than twice a year.

Planning and Zoning will meet at 6 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall, 630 E. Hopkins St. P&Z meetings are also streamed online.
