Drying Up

Thursday, August 30, 2018

There’s virtually nothing but dry land under the bridge and railroad overpass on Post Road over the Blanco River. Due to drought and high temperatures, flow of the Blanco at Wimberley was a mere 9.43 cubic feet per second on Wednesday morning. Daily Record photos by Denise Cathey

A low water line is clearly visible at Discovery Hall at The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment. Spring Lake is the headwaters of the San Marcos River

An old river gauge on the “island” at Rio Vista Park is a long ways above the water level in recent days. San Marcos springflow was 115 cfs Wednesday.
