Early voting in 2 runoffs for council starts Nov. 26

Early voting for the runoff elections for San Marcos City Council places 4 and 5 will start on Nov. 26.

Mark Rockeymoore and Shane Scott are competing for the Place 4 seat on city council; Jocabed “Joca” Marquez and Rick Henderson are competing for Place 5.

Early voting will be held at the Hays County Government Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 26-29 and Dec. 3-Dec. 6; from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7; from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. Early voting satellite locations will be set up at the Hays County Health Department/Live Oak Clinic on Broadway Street from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Dec. 1, from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Dec. 3 and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Dec. 4, and at the LBJ Student Center on the Texas State University campus from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 28-30. 

Election Day polling places will be the county health department for Precincts 110 and 113; the Dunbar Center for Precincts 111 and 112; Allenwood Homes for Precincts 413, 414, 416 and 417; Stone Brook Senior Center for Precincts 315-316 and 317; CM Allen Homes for Precinct 120; Crockett Elementary School for Precincts 318, 330 and 334; Brookdale (formerly Horizon Bay) on Ranch Road 12 for Precinct 336; and Travis Elementary School for Precincts 332, 415 and 447. 

The runoff results will be canvassed and the new City Council members sworn in on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. a City Hall, 630 E. Hopkins. That ceremony will be streamed online.
