Early voting starts Monday

Early voting for the Nov. 6 election begins tomorrow and ends Nov. 2. Voters can cast their ballots at the Hays County Government Center from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 22-27, 1-6 p.m. on Oct. 28, and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Oct. 29-Nov. 2.

Branch early voting locations and hours include the Hays County Precinct 2 office in Kyle, the Wimberley Community Center, the Hays County Precinct 4 Office in Dripping Springs, Buda City Hall and Kyle City Hall.

These locations will be open for voting from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 22-27 and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. on Oct. 29-Nov. 2.

Additionally, voting sites will be set up at Texas State University at the LBJ Student Center, at the Live Oak Clinic/Health Department on Broadway Street in San Marcos and at Eikon Church on Old Post Road in Kyle from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Oct. 22-24. Eikon Church will also be open for voting on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

With record voter registration numbers both in Hays County and across the state, Hays County Elections Administrator Jennifer Anderson said she expects turnout in this midterm election to be similar to the turnout in a presidential election.

In addition to state and federal-level positions, numerous county positions, including county judge, are on the ballot.

In San Marcos, the mayor’s chair and three places on the city council are up for grabs.
