Farmer Fred’s Carnival and Easter at the Courthouse coming up this week

Wednesday, April 17, 2019

A return of a popular seasonal carnival and a first-ever Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds of the Hays County Courthouse provide opportunities for youngsters to have some fun this week.

On Thursday, the city-sponsored Farmer Fred’s Garden Spring Carnival will be held at City Park from 6 to 9 p.m. And on Friday, County Judge Ruben Becerra is hosting children for an egg hunt and the chance to win prizes.

Farmer Fred’s Carnival will have games and other activities in addition to the egg hunt, including $3 photos with the Easter Bunny. The egg hunt will be divided into separate age groups: 1-3 years old at 6:15 p.m.; 4-5 years old at 6:45 p.m.; 6-9 years old at 7:15 p.m.; and 10 – 12 years old at 7:45 p.m.

Activities at the courthouse on Friday will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Egg hunts there will also be according to age, and will be “all inclusive,” accommodating children with disabilities. A “golden ticket” hidden in one egg per age group will result in a prize.

After the egg hunts, cake and punch will be served.
