Financial accountability report on agenda for SMCISD board Monday

Sunday, October 14, 2018

A public meeting to discuss the San Marcos CISD’s financial accountability rating from the state is part of the SMCISD board of trustees’ agenda Monday night.

According to the Texas Education Agency, the district received a perfect score — 100 — and a “Superior” or “A” rating on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) scale. A score of 60 is considered passing.

In other business Monday night, the board will consider approval of the design development for renovations at Miller Middle School and the hiring of an additional special education teacher at Travis Elementary School. The board also will consider nominating a representative to the Guadalupe County Appraisal District board of directors, adopting a resolution to identify hazardous conditions within 2 miles of a school campus and several board policy updates. Trustees also will consider approval of district assessments for acceleration and credit by examination.

The board will meet at 6 p.m. in the Criminal Justice Classroom (111) at San Marcos High School. Meetings are also livestreamed on the district’s YouTube channel.
