Mark Gleason throws hat in for Council Place 5

Mark Gleason has announced his intention to run for San Marcos City Council Place 5. Here’s what he had to say:

“I am proud to announce my bid for San Marcos City Council Place 5. My wife, Ruah, and I are homeowners in the Blanco Gardens neighborhood. Our home was impacted by major damage in both flood events in 2015. The negative impact of inappropriate development has caused our community so much costly suffering.

“My mission for our city government is focused on protecting our beautiful rivers and green spaces, spending tax dollars wisely, managing growth responsibly while working with the private sector but without sacrificing the quality of life and affordability for our citizens, and promoting our businesses and entrepreneurs. Our citizens deserve representation that is focused on encouraging multiple modes of safe transportation and improving infrastructure to meet the demands of our diverse growing population.

“With your help we can protect and enhance all of what makes San Marcos the beautiful community that it is.”
