Martindale goes all red, white and blue for July 4

Residents in the small Caldwell County town of Martindale deck out in red, white and blue each Fourth of July for a parade down Main Street. Jessica Higgins holds on to her older daughter Rylynn as grandmother Linda Gomez balances Higgins’s younger daughter Brynley on her knee as they watch the parade go past.

The parade featured a vaquero touch as Mario Medina  spins a lasso as he rides a horse down Main Street alongside friends.

Local residents wave American flags from their own float on one of the original hitches from the first Martindale Fourth of July parade.

Levi Frappier and Elizabeth Pannill sit in a buggy pulled by miniature horse Mackie as they wait to take their place in the parade.
