Press conference on fatal fire Friday

More than four months after five residents at the Iconic Village fire lost their lives, some answers are finally forthcoming.

The city has scheduled a press conference for this morning to announce the “classification” of the July 20 fire, hosted jointly by the San Marcos Fire Department and the Houston Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

In addition to the five people killed, more than a dozen were injured, and a handful of lawsuits have been filed by the families of those who did not survive.
