Rezoning meetings start today

San Marcos CISD
Thursday, November 8, 2018

With a new elementary school set to open for the 2019-2020 school year, the San Marcos CISD is redrawing its attendance zones and is holding public meetings about the process.

The opening of Rodriguez Elementary School, to be located in the Trace development east of Interstate Highway 35, will require the district to change its elementary school attendance boundaries. The SMCISD board of trustees has already heard a presentation about the rezoning process, and now the district is looking for input from the community. Public meetings are scheduled for today at De Zavala Elementary School, Nov. 13 at Hernandez Elementary, Nov. 14 at Mendez Elementary and Nov. 15 at Travis Elementary. The meetings will all be from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

The current elementary school attendance zoning map can be found on the SMCISD's website.
