Two people were arrested Dec. 5 for conspiracy to commit murder in Wimberley.

According to a press release from the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, on Nov. 30 at about 7 p.m. a victim was lured to a residence on Mount Sharp Road in Wimberley and met with Nevaada Lexus Morgan, age 20, of Santa Fe, Texas. The victim reportedly knew Morgan. Also present at the residence was Steven Ertel, age 19, of Wimberley, whom the victim did not know.

Morgan and Ertel were each armed with a knife and engaged in behavior at the residence that led the victim to believe his life was in imminent danger. The victim fled the area and immediately called 911.

A subsequent investigation uncovered evidence that Morgan and Ertel conspired to murder the victim. Morgan was booked into the Hays County Jail on Dec. 5, jail records show, and Ertel was booked on Dec. 6. Each of them has a bond of $100,000. Ertel has one prior arrest in Hays County – an aggravated assault charge from September.

No other information was made available, because the investigation is ongoing.
