Voting sites up for OK

Commissioners Court
Tuesday, August 7, 2018

The Hays County Commissioners Court will set the early voting and election day polling places for the Nov. 6 election at its meeting this morning.

Early voting will run from Monday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Nov. 2. Among the recommended early voting locations are the Hays County Government Center, county precinct offices, the city halls in Kyle and Buda, and temporary locations on the Texas State University campus and at the county health department.

Commissioners will also consider action to support the 2018 Hill Country Living and Rainwater Revival Festival. The event serves to educate the public about rainwater collection and includes presentations by professionals and people who use rainwater from across Texas. The county has sponsored the festival in the past.

In other business, the county will consider a professional services agreement between Hays County and Lone Star PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy). The agreement will give Lone Star PACE the authority to provide financing in the county. There are no costs to the county associated with participation in the PACE program — a program that promotes energy efficiency for commercial properties.

This morning’s meeting will include a budget workshop starting at 10 a.m. regarding the county’s Fiscal Year 2019 budget. Action could follow the workshop.

The commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. on the third floor of the Hays County Courthouse.

Meetings are also live streamed online.
