Austin air show honors veterans at Camp Mabry

AUSTIN – The Austin Police Department Highway Enforcement Command is proud to be hosting the 13th Annual American Heroes Air Show at Camp Mabry Parade Field on Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 13 and 14. The free event is held in conjunction with the Texas Military Open House and is open to everyone in our community.

The American Veterans Traveling Tribute Wall will be on display at Camp Mabry on Friday, Apr. 12. Opening ceremonies for the American Heroes Air Show begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Apr. 13 at the Grand Stand at the Parade Field.

Participants will enjoy ample parking, helicopter demonstrations (depending on weather), emergency and first responder displays, World War II re-enactments, children’s activities and food vendors. There will be a living history trail and demonstration and the Vietnam Memorial Wall and Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall will be on site. The Camp Mabry Museum will also host an Open House.

All-day activities include a living history demonstration/living history trail, Fallen Heroes Memorial Wall, first responder helicopter and equipment displays, education fair, museum open house, Vietnam Memorial Wall, veteran organizations, military equipment displays, food vendors, soldier and family support organizations, historic military vehicle displays and rides, soldier training simulators, children's activities and more.
