Early voting: 6% of Hays County registered voters turnout during first week

Six percent of registered voters in Hays County turned out during the first week of early voting for the March 3 Primaries. 

In the Republican primary, 4,327 voted in person or by mail from Feb. 18-23 — 3.04% of registered voters. On the Democratic side, 4,599 voted in person or by mail during the first six days of early voting — 3.23%. 

The 6.27% of voters during the first week of early voting surpassed the total of early voters during the Nov. 5, 2019 election, which recorded 6.02% of voters in 12 days. 

Early voting continues until Friday, Feb. 28.

Voters can vote at the following early voting locations: 

  • San Marcos: Hays County Government Center, 712 South Stagecoach Trail; Hays County Health Department/Live Oak Health, 401 Broadway St. #A; and Texas State University - LBJ Student Center, 301 Student Center Dr. 
  • Kyle: Austin Community College Campus Hays, 1200 Kohlers Crossing; Hays CISD Administration Office, 21003 Interstate 35, Kyle City Hall, 100 West Center St. and Hays County Transportation Department, 2171 Yarrington Rd.
  • Buda: Buda City Hall, 405 East Loop St. and McCormick Middle School, 5700 Dacy Lane. 
  • Wimberley: Wimberley Community Center, 14068 Ranch Road 12 and Wimberley ISD Administration Building, 951 Farm-to-market 2325, 
  • Dripping Springs: Hays County Precinct 4 Office, 195 Roger Hanks Parkway. 
  • Austin: Ledgestone Senior Living, 13152 Four Star Blvd.

Voters heading to the polls this week can vote from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. and can vote at any polling site in the county. 

The March 3 Primary is a part of Super Tuesday, where 14 states head to the polls, including Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont and Virginia alongside Texas.
