First of 3 blood drives is Saturday

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with “We Are Blood” (formerly the Blood Center of Central Texas), Cabela’s, and H-E-B in hosting blood drives this month. Blood donations are distributed throughout the Central Texas area; to include Seton Hays Medical Center in Kyle and Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos. Residents of Hays County are encouraged to come out and donate blood to help save local lives.

If you cannot personally donate, please ask someone to donate on your behalf. Volunteers can donate one pint of whole blood every 56 days and are encouraged to have eaten a meal before donating.

The drives will be held:

• Saturday, June 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Cabela’s parking lot in Buda

• Thursday, June 21, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Hays County Government Center rooms 1001 and 1002

• Saturday, June 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., H-E-B stores in Dripping Springs, Kyle and Wimberley
