GSMP to host 2021 Texas Innovation Corridor Economic Outlook

The Greater San Marcos Partnership will host the 2021 Texas Innovation Corridor Economic Outlook, which will discuss data, issues and strategies impacting the Hays and Caldwell county region’s economy.

The event, which is set for Thursday, Dec. 8 at Embassy Suites/San Marcos Conference Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will include a keynote panel featuring four economists who will dis cuss an outlook of the U.S. economy and investment markets. The panel will also provide commentary and insights specific to the Central and South Texas economies. Alan Adelman, senior fund manager and senior research analyst for Frost Bank, will moderate the panel consisting of Thomas Bergeron, senior fund manager and senior research analyst for Frost Bank; Jonathan Waite, senior research analyst for Frost Bank; and Belinda Román, a professor of economics at St. Mary’s University and lead economist for Román Economics.

Additionally, GSMP President Jason Giulietti will moderate a second panel discussion which will include local experts who will share insights on how the current environment has impacted their approach to thriving in today’s economy, GSMP said. The panel will include Donny Hirsch, director of corporate manufacturing at Thermon Industries; Jessica Rudman, branch manager at Priority Personnel; and Shilpa Amin, owner of Stonebridge Hotels, LLC.

“Texas has been steadfast in its response to COVID-19, and the success of that strategy is evident in the unparalleled investment we have seen over the last year,” Giulietti said. “GSMP's Economic Outlook will explore how the Texas Innovation Corridor has had a key role in those results and what we expect to see moving forward.”

The 2021 Texas Innovation Corridor Economic Outlook will be held both in person and virtually.
