GSMYC launching its annual school supply drive

The Greater San Marcos Youth Council (GSMYC) is gearing up its 18th Annual School Supply Drive and is ready to help the public school children of San Marcos.

The drive runs from Aug. 1- 22 and culminates with a Back to School Reception for donors and supporters at the GSMYC headquarters.

For 18 years, we have organized the community-wide school supply drive in hopes of helping children in our community go to school prepared with the right tools to succeed. We know first-hand the cost involved in getting kids ready for the school year and often, funds are low and spread thin.

We work closely with the Parent Liaisons from each SMCISD campus and this drive helps them stock their shelves for all children in need. All donations will go to SMCISD schools.

Another great way to assure the children have their supplies is through monetary donations. We can order in bulk and get more for your money. Your financial contribution can be mailed to GSMYC, Attn: School Supply Drive, P.O. Box 1455, San Marcos, Texas 78667.

GSMYC is a San Marcos based non-profit organization dedicated to helping local families. We strive to shelter children as well as strengthen family units. Community is an important part of our daily operations and we hope to provide for the families in Hays County.

Drop off locations are the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce; San Marcos Police Department; San Marcos fire stations; Texas Health and Racket Club; Office Depot; Mochas and Javas; McCoy’s Lumber and GSMYC.
