Holiday greetings from KZSM

This has been an amazing year and as we take the time to reflect on what we have accomplished, we must take a moment to thank the city of San Marcos, Hays County, the many organizations who have extended their assistance, and all our listeners around the world who have supported our endeavors by affording us the opportunity to entertain, engage and enlighten you. Over this past year we have made many friends, many of you have joined us, made suggestions, or assisted us in producing a diverse program schedule to address the needs of our burgeoning community.

As we continue into the new year, we strive to continually improve our offerings. Whether it be news and opinion or a variety of musical genres, one can rest assured that, more than likely, it may be heard on your true community radio station. Soon we expect to include classical music, programming in Spanish, a dedicated blues program, chats with our local librarians, and much more to our line-up. We have received suggestions about having old-time radio serials as well!  Only the shadow knows…!

If you have an idea for a radio program, let us know! If you think you would like to host your own program, come and join us! The training is free, and we work with your schedule to make it as simple and easy as possible for you to become part of our radio family. All that is required is an ability to work with a computer and a few software programs (which we will instruct you in,) and to be able to reach the controls and microphone to broadcast your program from within the booth in our studio. It would also be helpful if you have the time to join us during our various functions away from the station. This will help you to promote your program.

As always, we will be in the Kissing Alley every third Thursday for our concert series which are free, family-friendly and open to the public. You may also visit with us most Saturday mornings at the Farmer’s Market. Then again, one never really knows where else we may be seen.

From our KZSM family to yours, we wish all of you the most joyous of holiday seasons! Keep listening, the best is yet to come…
