Hopdoddy San Marcos location to open Wednesday

Monday, October 21, 2019

San Marcos’ Hopdoddy Burger Bar location will open on Wednesday, the restaurant said in a press release.

The city’s newest burger restaurant — located at 200 Springtown Way — features a menu of burgers, shakes and fries.

"We are looking forward to opening the first-ever San Marcos location next week. This is a market we have been excited about for a while, and we are thrilled that this is coming to fruition," Hopdoddy CEO Jeff Chandler said in a statement. "This will be the 33rd Hopdoddy location, and we feel fortunate to be joining the Springtown Shopping Center."

Hopdoddy will commemorate its grand opening by giving the first 100 people in line free burgers for a year. The first 100 patrons will receive a voucher book that will allow them one burger a week at no cost.

Hopdoddy, which was originally founded in Austin, will host a grand opening party on Friday, featuring live music and giveaways. The burger bar will also partner with the Boys and Girls Club of South Central Texas to donate a portion of sales of very Good Night/ Good Cause Burger purchase year-round.

Hopdoddy was founded in 2010 by Guy Villavaso, Larry Foles, Chuck Smith, and Larry Perdido and stands out for its “from scratch” ethos and full bar. The restaurant features all-natural, in-house grinded meat and offers Angus beef, chicken, turkey, sushi-grade tuna that are placed in between fresh-baked buns. The burger bar also has vegetarian items, including the Impossible Burger. Hopdoddy’s menu also has fries, salads and handcrafted milkshakes. The restaurant also has a bar with an array of craft draft beers on taps, and cocktails, including margaritas and more.

The San Marcos location has operating hours of Monday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to close.
