KZSM — No resolutions, just promises

Sunday, December 30, 2018

As the new year approaches, most folks are already thinking about what they plan to change in the coming year. From intentions of breaking bad habits to plans for fitness and better health, sadly, most resolutions will be forgotten by the time February comes around. Your true community radio family has decided that rather than make resolutions that are doomed to fail, it would be preferable to make promises instead.

So, we promise you, our listeners, underwriters, friends and supporters that we will continue to move forward, continue to expand our diverse programming, and to serve our community as best we can!

Beginning in January, we will commence classes to assist new volunteers in becoming radio hosts who will bring fresh ideas and additional program offerings. With an infusion of energy from a class of eager volunteers, we are excited to continue growing, becoming more inclusive, and more responsive to the needs of our listeners. Other changes will include re-branding and re-formatting of some of our currently existing programs as well as some changes in the program schedule to accommodate our radio hosts and their listeners.

Recently, we met with the Third Thursday Walkabout organizers and are pleased to announce that, although not completely planned out yet, the coming year in the Kissing Alley will be at least as exciting and probably even more fun and diverse than it has previously been. We look forward to having more audience interaction and more musical variety. We encourage you to join us for our free, family-friendly events in the coming year.

We also look forward to having you join us at the Railyard in San Marcos on Tuesday, Jan. 8 to help us celebrate the anniversary of our second year of broadcasting. Come out to meet your community radio family. The hosts of your favorite programs as well as the members of the board of directors will be there to personally greet you! Remember, our volunteer staff is comprised of your friends, neighbors and co-workers, let us know how we’re doing. Come and share your ideas on what we may do for you or find out how you may join the team!

These last two years have been joyfully eventful, and the future looks even brighter! In the meantime, as the holiday season slowly comes to an end, we wish you all a safe holiday season and a prosperous new year!
