KZSM is preparing for the holidays

Sunday, October 21, 2018

It’s no secret that when one walks into almost any store today, the decorations and selections are already reflecting the upcoming holiday season. We’re not past Halloween yet and in some places Christmas decorations are already available for purchase! Well, at KZSM we believe in helping to set the mood for the occasion at hand. We will be participating in the 2018 Downtown Trick-or-Treat. Our staff will be prepared and available to hand out treats to all the young revelers. We will play programs out of the archives that were recorded especially for the occasion; old tunes and voice clips from trailers for some of the old horror movies!

On Saturday, we Rocked the Dead at Wake the Dead Coffee House. Although in previous years our Fall fundraiser has been a venue for punk rock, this year had a more eclectic selection of musical talents.

Our musical offerings for November in the Kissing Alley will be in the form of acoustical guitar sets highlighted with an occasional model parading through the alley to emphasize the fashion show being presented on the courthouse lawn. Be sure to stop by our studio at 216 N. Guadalupe Street to see the amazing live model display in our window.

Recently, we reached a new milestone by successfully broadcasting a program from a remote location! This opens new possibilities for us and we are already considering other opportunities where we may also broadcast remotely. One of the considerations is to live broadcast our Kissing Alley concerts! Stay tuned as we continue to expand our horizons and explore ways in which we can serve our community.

If you haven’t been to the Farmer’s Market on a Saturday morning, then you need to stop by. It’s a wonderful opportunity to pick up some fresh vegetables, local honey, essential oils, many handcrafted items and so much more! While you’re there, you may also listen to live musical performances. However, don’t leave until you’ve stopped by the KZSM booth to chat with our staff members. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your true community radio station. Don’t forget to pick up a copy of our printed program schedule while you’re there.

KZSM (Just a little bit south of weird) now streaming world-wide on the internet at KZSM's website!
