Lockhart ISD tours Gary Job Corps

Representatives from Lockhart ISD toured the HVAC and electrical trades at the Gary Job Corps Center this week. They spoke with staff and students to discuss what is taught in the trades and what certifications could be obtained by youth in the Lockhart ISD area if they enrolled into Job Corps. Mark Estrada, Superintendent said he was impressed with the passion that staff showed for teaching. Melissa Royer, CTE/ Accountability Coordinator said she really liked speaking with the students and was amazed at how they were able to articulate what they were learning.
