Mikey Fest draws large crowd to benefit good cause

Wednesday, January 15, 2020

Mikey Fest drew attendees from all over Hays County to Jack’s Roadhouse all to support a good cause.

Mikey Rodriguez, a 10-year-old from San Marcos, was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor in October and has since undergone radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

Rodriguez’s family held a fundraiser Saturday to help with medical costs. The event was a family-friendly event with live music and included baked goods, art, and donations for the raffles. According to Rodriguez’s aunt Sonia Medina, who organized the event, people from San Marcos, Lockhart, Seguin, New Braunfels and Austin attended the event.

As of Tuesday, Mikey’s family didn’t have a total count on funds raised during the event.
