Gary student enlists in the U.S. Navy
Gary Job Corps Corrections Cadet Marcala Poland receives U.S. Navy Oath of Enlistment from Lt. Ryan Fauci, United States NavyRecruiting. Witnessing the event were UT2 Brandon McCown, GSE2 Tara Paramore, both with the Navy Recruiting San Marcos, and Susanne Ritter, military liaison for Gary Job Corps. Poland is a 2017 graduate from The Woodlands High School in Texas, where she participated in the JROTC program while in school. She came to the Gary Job Corps Center for the Corrections program, when asked why she wanted to go in the Navy she said “I’m looking for the travel, structure and the esprit de corps.” Poland will be enlisting for Aviation Boatswains Mate, Handling (ABH), she will be going to Great Lakes, Illinois for boot camp. Martindale Independence Day Parade
All hands point to the start of the Martindale 4th of July Parade, where Gary Job Corps cadets have handled crowd and traffic control for the past 10 years.
