River advisory group formation on tap

The formation of an advisory group focused on the San Marcos River in Martindale is on the agenda for the city’s council meeting tonight. 

The council is expected to discuss and vote on an ordinance for the Martindale San Marcos River Advisory Board and appoint volunteers to the group. The Martindale City Council is also expected to discuss the ongoing problem of litter in the river as part of its executive session and in regular session.

The council has also listed the Mayan project scheduled for the Hillert Tract, Walton development and the potential development of an RV park as topics for discussion during its executive session. 

Council is also expected to discuss acquiring a police vehicle from the SMPD for the Martindale Police Department. 

The council will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the Martindale Meeting Room, 407 Main St.
