Twenty professional selling students were the invited guests earlier this month of Will Brown, lead recruiter for AT&T, to corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. AT&T is one of the corporate partners of Texas State University’s McCoy College Center for Professional Sales.

The event was organized as a competition for Texas State students to test their selling skills against each other. The case involved selling AT&T cyber security services to a fictitious small manufacturing company with 88 employees.

There were five teams of students, who are as follows:

The top three teams were, Team 3, Team 4 and Team 5, with Team 5 winning first place overall. Individual performance awards went to Justin Deatherage, Ofelia Lira, Ian Neithercut, Jayton Burba and Rachel McPartland.

The students had the opportunity to tour the AT&T headquarters and meet many AT&T executives, including Anne Chow, the keynote speaker for the welcome dinner on the evening of March 1. Chow is the President of National Business for AT&T.

Vicki West, director of the Center for Professional Sales, gave a short presentation on the growth of sales centers around the world and on the Center for Professional Sales at Texas State.

The students were accompanied by West and Wayne Noll, the assistant director of the Center for Professional Sales who coached the students. Four graduate students, Madison Ivers, Christina Sfamenos, Katie O’Brien and Jeremy Cox, also attended and assisted with coaching.
