San Marcos City Council Elections: Unofficial results show Gonzales re-elected, Baker overcomes early deficit

Update (11:54 p.m.) 

Maxfield Baker and Saul Gonzales won their respective San Marcos City Council elections, according to Hays County's unofficial voting results. 

Baker overcame an early deficit to earn city council Place 1 over Mark Gleason. Baker received 1,926 votes — 50.39% — while Gleason had 1,896 votes — 49.61%. 

Gonzales, Place 2 incumbent, won re-election over challengers Lisa Marie Coppoletta and Devin Barrett with 2,271 of the 3,812 votes casted — 59.58%. Coppoletta tallied 1,119 votes — 29.35% — and Barrett amassed 422 votes — 11.07%

Early voting results are in for San Marcos City Council elections. 

In Place 1, Mark Gleason leads Maxfield Baker with 55.67% of the vote. Gleason received 928 total votes after early voting ballots were counted, while Baker had 739 — accounting for 44.39% of the vote. 

In Place 2, incumbent Saul Gonzales received 65.83% of the vote, while Lisa Marie Coppoletta trailed with 24.6% of the vote and Devin Barret with 9.58%. Gonzales obtained 1,110 votes from early voting ballots, Coppoletta had 411 and Barrett amassed 160.
