San Marcos honors veterans with annual parade

A parade of floats wound their way through downtown San Marcos Saturday, Nov.  9 in honor of Veterans Day. The City of San Marcos, with help from the Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee and local veterans’ organizations, puts on the annual event. Daily Record photos by Madison Simmons

Marsha Daniels watches police and fire trucks drive by with grandson Caden, 2, at the Veterans Day Parade. Daniels, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, has come to the parade for the past six years. "I'm very patriotic and I've always been very patriotic," she said. "It's the best thing I ever did," she said of her 20-plus years of service.

Representatives from the Hays County Food Bank sport turkey costumes to remind people to donate for the upcoming holidays. They joined other local groups in the Veterans Day Parade.
