SMA student receives essay award from LBJ Museum

Lauren Hurst, a 7th grade Texas History student at the San Marcos Academy receives the first place prize of $100 from the Lyndon Baines Johnson Museum of San Marcos for her winning essay on the theme, "From Texas to the Moon: LBJ's Influence on the U.S. Space Program." Her essay is on display at the museum. She was honored at the museum’s Fall Lecture featuring a talk by Dr. George W.S. Abbey, former head of NASA
