SMCISD Board of Trustees to vote on several voting related items

The San Marcos Consolidated ISD Board of Trustees is set to discuss and take possible action during Monday's regular board meeting on several items related to the upcoming board election.

The trustees approved the calling of an election to be held on May 2 for the purpose of electing three trustees during a meeting on Feb. 3. Miguel Arredondo, Margie Villalpando and Lupe Costilla all have their current terms as trustees coming to an end this year.

The board will consider a resolution to participate in a joint election to be held on May 2. The trustees will also consider contracts with Hays, Caldwell and Guadalupe counties for the purpose of election services.

In other business, the Annual Accountability/Texas Academic Performance Report will be given during the monthly academic update.

The trustees will consider and take possible action to accept the Transportation Annex Bond Project.

The board will also consider taking action on the approval of the SMCISD academic calendar for 2020-2021, the approval of a request for proposal that allows district funds to be moved into additional local bank depository account, budget amendments and an interlocal agreement between the district and the City of San Marcos for shared use of Mendez Elementary field.

Monday’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. at San Marcos High School — 2601 Rattler Rd. — inside the criminal justice classroom.
