The San Marcos Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (SMUUF) had a float in the SMTX Pride Parade on Saturday, Sept. 7, in downtown San Marcos.  Jeannie Lewis, SMUUF Social Justice Chair, said, “From the beginning, the Unitarian Universalist Association has been a supportive and welcoming association to our LGBTQ community.”

The UUA Website states this on LGBTQ Justice: “Each of us has worth and dignity, and that worth includes our gender and our sexuality. As Unitarian Universalists, we not only open our doors to people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, we value diversity of sexuality and gender and see it as a spiritual gift. We create inclusive religious communities and work for LGBTQ justice and equity as a core part of who we are. All of who you are is sacred. All of who you are is welcome.”

“We were happy to be a part of, and one of, the earliest financial supporters of the local Pride festivities,” said Lewis, “and we will continue to be!”
