Some county roads closed due to high water; five inches in parts of San Marcos

Sunday, September 9, 2018

Hays County has closed two popular parks – Jacob’s Well Natural Area and Five-Mile Dam Park – due to heavy rain and unsafe hiking and swimming conditions.

Park-goers who have swim reservations at Jacob’s Well will be contacted and their times rescheduled if they so desire. Heavy rain has clouded the water in the well, making it currently unsafe for swimming.

Residents and visitors should check www.HaysInformed.com for countywide emergency information, including road closures. Sign up for weather and other emergency notifications by voice, text, or email at www.warncentraltexas.org.
