There’s more going on at KZSM

As we begin the second month of the new year, your true community radio station continues to evolve and grow along with the music scene in San Marcos! We are pleased to announce that SMFEST 2018 is being sponsored by KZSM and the San Marcos Arts Commission. This spectacular arts festival will host artists, comedians, musicians of many genres, and filmmakers from San Marcos, San Antonio, and Austin as well as the general Central Texas region and beyond. Mark your calendars for March 15th through the 18th. Many venues in San Marcos have already joined the list to host this plethora of artists. More information is available at the SMFEST 2018 social media page.

Two of our newest program offerings are “Soul Sanctuary” hosted by Thema and “Kill Zone San Marcos” with Chill Bea. Neither one of these ladies has ever done a radio program before but they are both making wonderful impressions on our listening audience. “Soul Sanctuary” addresses metaphysical issues and Thema will also perform Tarot readings on the air. Curious? Tune in on Monday evenings from 8 to 9 p.m. Chill Bea, on the other hand, offers “chill” music which is excellent to have playing in the background at work, but don’t be surprised if she occasionally slips in a Beatles or Elvis tune from time to time! This young woman will surprise you.

This month on Feb. 15, join us in the Kissing Alley for Cameron Elise and Richard Watson. Our concerts are always free, family-friendly, and open to the public. Come on out for some middle-of-the-week stress relief.

Of course, you may always come by the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to say hello. Our radio hosts are always willing to answer any questions you may have and will gladly let you have a printed copy of our program schedule. Find out how you can support your true community radio station or how you may become part of your radio family.

Our regularly scheduled staff meetings are open to the public. This month’s meeting is still in the works as our regular meeting date falls on Valentine’s Day and our radio hosts deserve time with their sweethearts as well. Once it is arranged, we will post the time, date, and location.

Thank you for allowing us to become part of this vibrant community!
