Church News
Thursday, April 18, 2019

This Lent honor Jesusʼ gift to us by walking the Stations of the Cross. The Stations of the Cross, also known as The Way of the Cross or the Via Crucis, refers to a nature trail with fourteen scenes depicting events experienced by Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion.

Itʼs a pilgrimage of prayer and meditation. The trail will be open for self-guided individual or groups starting on Sunday, April 7 through Sunday, April 28. There will not be any live actors except on Good Friday. Meditation guides will be available as you begin the walk.

On Good Friday, April 19, at 12 noon there will be a brief Ecumenical Service at First Christian Church followed by guided group walks on the trail from 12:30 to 1:30. Golf Carts will be available for those needing assistance. Stations of the Cross is an inter-denominational offering to the San Marcos community sponsored by First Christian Church, First Baptist Church, Sozo Church-San Marcos, Eikon Church, El Buen Pastor, Classical Conversations, Community Bible Study and others. Stations of the Cross Trail is located on the property of St. Markʼs Episcopal and First Christian Church at 3105 Ranch Road 12, just two minutes west of San Marcos.
