Volunteers to plant trees Thursday

The city of San Marcos and the nonprofit TreeFolks are seeking volunteers to help plant native trees in Blanco Shoals Natural Area on Feb.1 from 10 a.m. -1 p.m.  The tree planting is part of an ongoing riparian restoration project in the area, which was damaged during the 2015 floods.

TreeFolks is donating 1,200 seedlings to the restoration effort and coordinating volunteers to help plant the trees.

Those interested in participating in the volunteer tree planting event at Blanco Shoals or other planting events hosted by TreeFolks can signup on TreeFolk's website.
