The numbers of travelers through TSA checkpoints fell from over two million most days in February 2020 to fewer than 100,000 per day through part of April (a drop of more than 95%).

Kyle Chamber CEO to serve Texas COC

Kyle Chamber of Commerce CEO Julie Snyder will serve in 2023 as the Vice Chair-Governmental Relations for the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) Board for the 2023 fiscal year. TCCE is the longest standing association of chamber of commerce professionals in the nation, working to provide guidance to local and regional chambers through professional education, resources, and networking opportunities.

‘Amazing’ program teaches African heritage through music, storytelling

To honor Black History Month, drum circles, heralded by a voice reaching out in powerful tones to retell literary and family stories shared from generation to generation, greeted the audience this past Saturday hosted by The Calaboose African American Museum and its annex, the Cephas House. The museum hosted a presentation featuring Elizabeth Kahura, a teacher and storyteller who created the African Safari Program to bring the meaning of African heritage to the community.

A Dine to Donate Fundraiser Night at the Texas Roadhouse helped the nationwide restaurant chain raise $800,000. All the funds raise on February 6 went to support the American Tinnitus Association, which assists families and individuals dealing with tinnitus. The nonprofit provides treatments, interventions and science research into Tinnitus, which is when people experience ringing or other noises in one or both ears. San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department hosted the 22nd Annual Golden Sweetheart’s Ball on Friday, February 10, 2023, at the San Marcos Activity Center. This was the first Golden Sweetheart’s Ball to take place since February of 2020. Eighty-five people reserved spots to this Valentine’s celebration geared toward couples and singles ages 50 and above in San Marcos and surrounding communities. The music was provided by Sound Experience and Big Dog Catering provided the dinner.

Friend‘s frisky husband makes his desires clear

DEAR ABBY: My married friend is a swinger. She says her husband’s sex drive has declined lately, but it hasn’t. He keeps trying to get me to talk “naughty” with him, but I always refuse. To me, that would be betraying my friend. He has encouraged her to get a live-in girlfriend for herself. I asked her what she thinks would happen if she did and he decided to do the same. She doesn’t believe he would, but I do.
