KZSM: Tune in Mondays for Voices You Won’t Hear Anywhere Else

As one of the many voices of KZSM 104.1 FM and KZSM.org, I’ll be your guest columnist this week to introduce you to my new show, “The Indie Artist Review” (Mondays 2-3 p.m.). On each broadcast, I take one extraordinary indie artist and dive deep into their music-- their motivations, inspirations, and creativity. Sometimes it will be live play and conversation as heard on my long-running show “Friday Night with Care” (Fridays 8-10 p.m.), and other times only their music.

A meatless meal to enjoy during Lent

The 40 days and nights of Lent are a time for reflection and anticipation of Easter’s arrival. Fasting, which for many Christians includes skipping meat and animal products each Friday, also is part of the preparation. Individuals who are unaccustomed to going meat-free may need to expand their culinary repertoire to ensure Friday meals continue to be filling and tasty.

Efforts to connect with fiance’s family are met with silence

DEAR ABBY: I am engaged to an amazing guy. We have been together a little more than two years. During our first year, his family was great to me. They acted as if they liked me. However, things have changed. When my fiance and I are around them, they just wave and have little to say to me, if they say anything at all. They never call or text me; I’m always the one to do it first. Several times when I have texted, they haven’t replied.
