Two trees that were cut down across Hopkins Street from City Hall on Wednesday were diseased, the city said. City spokesman Trey Hatt said Urban Forester Kelly Eby ordered the two Arizona Ash trees to be taken down “due to the extensive decay throughout the trees” that had caused one to split in half.
