Heading into the holidays with KZSM as station nears 2nd year

In case you missed it, we had a fabulous time at the October Kissing Alley Concert! There were lots of costumes, lots of pictures taken and, lots of folks who just came out to listen to our free live musical performances. Moving forward, we are now approaching the holidays and a milestone for our station. As of Jan. 2, we will have been livestreaming for a year! So, we will add that as a reason to celebrate the season. At present, we have not yet solidified any specific plans to mark the occasion, but we are considering doing something special. The past year has brought many changes; we have gained and lost DJs and various programs. Of course, this is generally expected as we continue to refine and improve our format and due to the many vagaries of existence in our modern times.

Our Kissing Alley concert schedule will continue to be held every third Thursday in the Kissing Alley unless inclement weather forces us to move indoors. On Nov. 16, we will be collaborating with the food bank and will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items.

Our musical guests will be Tracy Weinberg and Molly J. Hayes. In December, join us on the 21st as the San Marcos High School Orchestra presents a Christmas concert.

As always, our concerts are free, open to the public, and family friendly!

If you would like to join our diverse team of talented, and friendly individuals, come to our next staff meeting which will be held at Wake the Dead Coffee House on Wednesday the 15th of November from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Of course, you can always contact us through our website, or come see us in the Kissing Alley, the Farmer’s Market, or at any other function where our members may be present, usually distributing program schedules and promoting your true community radio station.

We welcome your suggestions and program ideas. If you have ever considered being on the radio, we can make it happen for you! We will provide the training, the venue, and the opportunity.

We recently welcomed Sid Braverman to our team. He will be entertaining you early on Monday mornings with “Sid’s Place” taking us all back to a time when dancing to “oldies” was the way to go.

Tune in, KZSM (Just a little bit south of weird!)
