League hosts 30th Annual Taste of Texas Wine & Beer

The League of Women Voters of Hays County held their 30th Annual Taste of Texas Wine and Beer fundraiser on Jan. 25 at the Quail Creek Country Club. Money raised from the single event fund the league's non-partisan support of voters through countywide debates, voter guides and resources. The tasting featured five varieties from regional wineries that included a sparkling wine from McPherson Cellars, Duchman Winery’s trebbiano, Fall Creek Vineyard’s chardonnay, a meritage blend from Llano Estacado and Becker Vineyard’s merlot.

The tasting featured four distinct style of beers from four regional breweries including the Hefeweizen from Live Oak, the Slow Ride Pale Ale from Oasis, the Austin Amber from Independence and the Coffee Porter from Real Ale.
