City to host open house on accessibility in San Marcos

The city of San Marcos invites the public to a workshop March 8 at 5 p.m. at the San Marcos Activity Center Room 1, 501 E. Hopkins, to hear input from residents on how to make San Marcos more accessible to people with disabilities.

The ADA Coordinator for the city will present the City’s 2018 Transition Plan, which outlines priorities for ADA compliance upgrades to city facilities.

City departments including Transportation, Engineering, Transit, Planning, Facilities, and the San Marcos Police Department will be on hand to receive input from residents with disabilities or family members of those with disabilities for help in this effort.

Past outreach has helped shape the city’s sidewalk plan, which guides the city’s ongoing work to upgrade and repair sidewalks and make them more accessible to people with disabilities.
