Early voting ends today

March Primaries

Today is the last day to vote early in the Democratic and Republican primaries.

During the first week of early voting, Hays County appeared to be part of a state-wide trend of turnout more resembling that of a presidential election year, according to Elections Administrator Jennifer Anderson.

Statewide, the Associated Press reports that voting in the Democratic primary up more than 40 percent, while numbers in the Republican primary remained essentially flat.

Any county resident who is registered to vote can cast an early ballot today at the Government Center on Stagecoach Road until 7 p.m.

A list of early voting sites, election day voting sites and sample ballots can be found at the county elections web page.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 6, when polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On that day, voters must report to their specific precinct to cast a ballot.
