Davonte Miller, who was identified as a suspect in a Tuesday night shooting on Mill Street, was arrested Wednesday in Louisiana.

Miller, 20, allegedly shot an 18-year-old woman multiple times near the 600 block of Mill Street on Tuesday, according to the San Marcos Police Department.

Miller fled the scene in a 2010 Hyundai Genesis, officials said. SMPD obtained a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon for Miller.

Miller was located and apprehended in Crowley, Louisiana at approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday, SMPD said.

He originally attempted to evade law enforcement with his vehicle but he was apprehended by the Crowley Police Department, officials said. Miller was transferred to the Acadia Parish Jail in Crowley where he’s been charged with Hit and Run, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Legend Drug by the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office.

“The San Marcos Police Department expresses their deep appreciation for the exemplary work and coordination of the Crowley Police Department, Louisiana State Police, and the FBI in apprehending Miller,” SMPD said in a statement. “SMPD would also like to thank the community who came forward with critical information and video footage to help solve this case so quickly.”

Bond has not currently been set. Miller will be charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon upon his return to Hays County, SMPD said. Police said additional or upgraded charges may be added as the case develops.
