Carl Schreiber

Our beloved Carl Schreiber passed from this life on Sept. 21, 2018, in San Marcos, Texas. Carl is survived by his Sister, Dorothy Contreras, of Iowa; his sister in law Nancy Schreiber of Texas, Sister-in-law Carol Schreiber of North Dakota, niece Sherry Egge her husband James Egge and their daughter Rachel Egge of Texas , and many nieces and nephews including great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Lucy Schreiber of Park Rapids Minnesota, sisters Alice and Freida, and brothers Clayton, John, and Jim.

Carl was a founding member of the Unity Church of San Marcos where he remained a vital and active member serving two terms as board president and serving many years as the church usher who greeted everyone with his warm, positive smile.

Carl worked as a social worker for people with disabilities in San Marcos touching the lives of so many that he helped. He loved running and cycling and had participated in many marathons. He met many of his life long friends because of his love of running, and was often seen running with his beloved Pug Sophie.

A memorial service is scheduled for the 6th of October at 4 p.m., at Unity Church of San Marcos at 16870 N. State Hwy. 123. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carl’s life. If you wish to donate, donations can be made to Unity of San Marcos.
